Authentic Antique Gold Metal Filigree & Celluloid Chatelaine Dance Card Case

Wonderful antique repoussé, filigree gold metal alloy and celluloid chatelaine dance card case. This case was purchased from an antique dealer in Washington state in the 1980’s by my father as a gift for my mother. Both of my parents were antique collectors and accumulated many wonderful things over the years. This particular piece is in very good condition with no damage other than that the filigree compartment on the side that would hold a pencil or pen is just a bit squashed on the top end. It could probably be repaired very easily without heating. Aside from that this case is in very good condition. It is nearly 2” long, not including the flip up bail, by 1 7/16” wide by 3/16” deep and weighs 25.1 grams. The filigree work is really lovely with fine detail. The alloy metal is a rich, aged rosy yellow gold. This case works as a slide as you can see in my photos. There is one free celluloid sheet with two that are attached front and back. The bail flips up and holds firmly. This case is not signed, but is absolutely guaranteed to be an original antique. Any display items I pictured are not included.
