This uniform is dated 1944and consists of the tunic with belt, and the matching trousers.
Tunic: Label inside reads asfollows: JACKETS. O.A. | SIZE 13 | Height 5’11” to 6’0” | Breast 37” to 38” |Waist 34”. Contracted by J. Harvey Ltd. London. With clear WD broad arrow markand dated 1944. Label is also named in ink, but owner’s name is difficult tomake out. The tunic is made of the standard serge material. It retains itsoriginal color with no signs of fading or moth damage. There is a small snag onthe upper left with some oil residue, and another small snag on the skirt, consistent with service wear. Left breast carries a fine set of padded silkembroidered RAF pilot wings. Comes with original serge belt with brass buckle.
    Albatross
patches and sergeant chevrons surmounted by metal King’s Crowns on each sleeve. All insignia is original to the jacket. A super nice combat-worn piece.
Trousers: Label inside reads:WAR SERVICE DRESS | TROUSERS | Size No. 00 | Height 5’0” to 5’1” | Waist 31” |Seat 35” to 36” | Leg 28” | D. RITTER. Plus the WD broad arrow and clear dateof 1944. The shorter Height is so that the trousers will fit easily into theflying boots. The trousers are in excellent condition and match the tunic, withall the buttons for the pockets, the fly and attachment of suspenders/braces, etc.
Overall the ensemble is inexcellent condition. These government issue Flight Sergeant Pilot tunics areharder to find than the officer tunics.
